Layers privacy policy
Effective date: 27 October 2026 · Last updated: 27 October 2026
This policy describes how Layers: A Boxy Journey handles information in the current Android closed-test version 0.9.0.
Who we are and what this policy covers
Layers: A Boxy Journey ("Layers") is a puzzle game developed by an independent developer operating under the ManTalksMedia brand. For privacy questions, contact amantalksmedia+support@gmail.com.
This policy describes the current Android closed-testing version 0.9.0 of Layers (com.mantalksmedia.layers). It does not describe features that may be introduced in a later public Android or iOS release. We will review this policy before enabling features that change the game's data practices.

Gameplay data on your device
You can play this version without registering or signing in. Layers stores progress, settings, streaks and achievements locally on your device to save your game state and preferences. This version does not offer a Layers-operated account or cloud backup service.
The current version does not include online leaderboards or player chat. It does not request Android permissions for location, contacts, camera or microphone access.
Third-party components and diagnostics
The closed-test build includes certain Google software libraries, including Google Play Billing and Firebase Analytics components. Purchases are not offered. Firebase Analytics collection is disabled, and no Firebase app is configured. The build does not include the Google AdMob SDK, request the Android Advertising ID permission or include a dedicated crash-reporting SDK.
Technical testing of the release bundle found no app network connections during the emulator sessions tested. Those tests were limited and do not establish that no device information or diagnostics could ever be transmitted in all conditions, devices or Google Play delivery scenarios. We will reassess the game's data practices if later verification identifies additional transmission or if we activate new services.
Google Play and Android system services may separately process information under their own policies when you obtain, install or use applications. We do not control data collected independently by those services.
Reminders and sharing
If you enable optional reminders in Layers, they are scheduled locally on your device. You can manage notification permissions in Android settings.
If you choose to share content from the game, Android presents available sharing options. You control which app or recipient receives the content. Once you share it, the receiving app or service handles it under its own privacy practices.
Support and privacy emails
If you email us, we receive the email address you use, the message you send and any information you voluntarily include, such as a device model, screenshot or description of a problem. We use that information to respond to your request and investigate the issue you report. Our email service provider processes messages as part of providing email delivery and storage.
We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to handle requests, related follow-up and any applicable legal obligations. A fixed retention period has not yet been established. You may ask us to review or delete your correspondence by contacting the address below, subject to any legitimate need to retain particular records.
Please do not send passwords, sign-in codes, payment information or other sensitive credentials.

Advertising, accounts and purchases
The current Android closed-testing version has no in-game advertising, account sign-in, cloud backups or in-app purchase offers. Analytics collection is disabled.
These features may be considered for later versions. They are not available in this closed test. Before activating them, we will update the policy to identify relevant data, service providers, purposes, retention and available choices.
Storage, security and deletion
Gameplay information is kept in the game's local app storage and relies on the protections provided by Android and your device. We do not provide remote cloud storage of guest progress in this version.
You can generally remove local Layers data from your current device by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app. The inspected Android build disables cloud Auto Backup, but device-to-device transfers may still preserve or move certain data on some Android 12+ devices. Clearing or uninstalling the app on one device therefore does not guarantee that all migrated copies on other devices have been removed.
For practical steps, see the account and data deletion page linked at the end of this page.
Children
Layers is a general-audience casual puzzle game intended primarily for teenagers and adults. It is not specifically directed at children under 13. This testing version does not offer player accounts. If you are a parent or guardian with a privacy question about Layers, contact us using the address below.

Privacy inquiries and updates
For questions about this policy, personal information you voluntarily provided in support correspondence or other privacy requests, email amantalksmedia+support@gmail.com. We may need enough information to understand and verify a request, but we will never ask for your password, sign-in code or recovery credentials.
We may update this policy when the game or its data practices change. The current version will be published on this page, with its updated date shown above. We will provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate or required by law.
